Its name, inspired by the word “baharika” (spices), reflects the aromas and sensations once filling the area’s traditional spice markets,many of which still operate nearby. “Βahar” in Turkish means “Spring”, the season when everything begins to bloom, symbolizing birth, renewal, and the emergence of new possibilities.With this name, we wanted to bring together all the old yet still vibrant elements of the area, not simply to preserve them, but to highlight and reintroduce them within the contemporary Thessaloniki. Our aim is to allow these stories, flavors, and traditions to blossom once again, naturally and beautifully, in today’s city life.
